Finishing Strong

2 Tim 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

Our Christian life can be compared to a race with each individual getting his own lane. One of the features of a race is that you must reach the finishing line for you to qualify to get any prize from that race. If you don't get to the end, you can't get the reward. Likewise as Christians, if we are not for Christ, till the very end of our lives, we don't get any reward.

However the stronger you finish, the higher  the prize you get.

To finish strong should be the characteristic of every true believer.  Why? God said in  Job 8:7 "Though thy beginning was small,Yet thy latter end should greatly increase." (meaning as a matter of fact it ought to happen, but then that will depend on what you do).

What does God expect from you then? He expects that through continuous and communal fellowship with His Holy Spirit (Him, directing, teaching and guiding you) , you ought to come out better in any situation than when you started.

One of the ways you know a man has been with Christ is that he becomes better (character wise, financially, intellectually, academically etc.) That's the rubbing off effect of being with the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor 3:18"And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit." (Amp.)

However whenever we relegate the power and the help of the Holy Ghost, we open ourselves up to failure.  The Holy Ghost is our comforter, our friend , our GUIDE. Where/who is He guiding us to; Christ, Eternity. If you don't have Him, you'll get lost.

We need now more than ever, a renewed communion with the Holy Ghost (the good feeling that comes from being with someone). Not just prayer by / through Him but fellowship with Him.

2 Cor. 13:14 (The Grace); "The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you." (MSG)

Thirst for a deeper relationship with the Holy Ghost and He'll fill you. Invite Him into your life and He'll come. Speak to Him and He will reply.

Like Paul I pray we will be able to dust or backs on that last day, and say indeed I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. I finished strong.
