Spiritual Arrogance or Physical Arrogance

Image
©Google Images Christianity is greatly evolving. A whole lot of changes are going on in Christendom. God is revealing himself in a greater measurement to his children. However we must not lose sight of the manner Christ needs us to live even in this new move of the Holy Spirit.     John 13:12-15 says "So when He had washed their feet and put on His [outer] robe and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you understand what I have done for you?13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is who I am.14 So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet as well. 15 For I gave you[this as] an example, so that you should do[in turn] as I did to you." For a better understanding let's look at Luke 22:25      Luke 22:25 "Jesus said to them,“The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. If You Abide in Me and I in You

Image
©Google Images Hello! I was staying at someone's house today and I wanted to pray. It was difficult to connect to God the way I desired to. So I just assumed that the person I was staying with was not a christian or a "fire-branding" christian because there was no atmosphere of worship already there. -(If you enter into a place where someone prays, it won't be tough for you to connect to God because there is a presence of God there. That's why you experience goose pimples when you go to church, or a certain peace there. Your house or where you stay to continually worship God can be like that too). However to my surprise, in the morning before I woke up, this person was already praying and studying her devotion. So I began to wonder, what then was wrong. While I was studying later today, He showed me this scripture: John 15: 4 "Abide in me, and I in you." And he said it again John 15: 5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me

In Pursuit of God #2

Image
©Google Images PURPOSE Hello people :) Hope you are having a good day. Today, we'll be talking about Moses.     Ex 2: "11And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.12And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. 13And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow? 14And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.15Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well." Growing up as a boy  Moses probably had heard a lo

©Google Images WHOM / WHAT DO YOU SEEK Acts 5: 12 "At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders (attesting miracles) were continually taking place among the people." When God blesses you or  allows you to do miracles in the Name of His son, it is for a reason ; It shows that He is God and that He's in our midst. It also affirms that the person who is being used is from God. Acts 2: 22 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:" Luke 11: 20 "But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you." These gifts both physical and spiritual are there to attest that there is a God out there who is in fact the God Almighty. So it will make men worship Him, not you. However people are now so concerned about the gift even more than they are of the Giver. Whom do

Life and Love (Family, Friends, Spouses, Neighbours, Everyone!)

Image
©Google Images One of the crucial components of life is love. Everything we do on earth revolves around love (either lack of love or the existence of it). So why are we so interested about love today? You see we are going into a season supposedly about love and we don't even know the foundation of love. Love formed creation and Love sustains creation  (I mean that both literally and figuratively). You see God's fundamental reason for creating man was formed out of love. Why was God interested in a barren earth (Gen 1:1). He could as well have left it. He dwelt in heaven and I'm sure heaven was good. He knew there was going to be a God-like specie called man who would soon inhabit the earth and he needed to make it good for you and me. Fit to standard. Because you were about to be made (or your ancestors). Then He needed man to come and have dominion over the earth. Why was He so interested in us having dominion. We are meant to be an extension of God on ea

Love and Life

Image
©Google Images The Light So I'll be doing a series on 'Life and Love'. Subsequently this blog will revolve around this subject matter. I want us to know (and I want to learn too) how God intended it from beginning; our lives in general and our love lives (relationships) in particular. We are going to be taking our point of view from God's point of view (His Word). How did He originally intend it. How does he want us to apply it now. I want God to be in every area of my life. I don't just want to be affected by Him in one area of my life.I want Him to breath in my soul. I want Him to breath in my academics. I want him to breath in my marriage. I want him to breath in my business. I want him to breath in my relationships. I want Him to make me come alive. I want to be whole. I hope you want that too! Gen 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

On Marriage #1

Image
©Google Images "We are getting married!". Every one gets really excited about this. Is that really all there is to it? The fan fare and excitement. We know marriage is one of the first institutions established by God. So what did God see when He said "I will make him, a help meet for him" Chinelo Synclaire Enyinnaya a close friend of mine wrote this piece down for you. Be blessed and enlightened. - From God's first and major union, his masterpiece as regards man - woman relationships we see three divine principles to guide us in ours, from the book of Genesis 2. The first is in verse 18 1)  Gen 2: 18;  "... I will make him a help meet for him." UTILITARIAN VALUE, USEFULNESS, FUNCTIONALITY - Eve's creation arose out of Adam's need. God saw a need in Adam. If we recall vs 18, God said; 'it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a help (suitable for him). Then in vs 19, God went on to form very beast and animal and BROUG

Do You Love Me More Than ...?

Image
John 21:15 "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?" Why was Jesus particular about this. He asked Simon three times, 'do you love me more than these people?'. Why was Jesus concerned about this? A time will come when what will keep you for God, is your love for God. Everything will be upside down. You might not understand why you're doing what you are doing again. The devil might be besetting you on all sides. Then, only your love for God will keep you. Let's see what follows after this declaration; John 21: 18 "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God." In this situation, only Peter's love for God wil

Faith

Image
©Google Images I remember singing when I was younger; 'Faith is just believing what God says He will do; He will never fail us, His promises are true. If we but receive Him, His children we become. Faith is just believing this wondrous thing is done' God speaks, every time.  But most times we are not listening. When God speaks, He speaks from his own point of view. Sometimes it might sound incredible to us. That is why we need that element called 'faith'. The Bible tells us in Heb 11:1 'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen'. Let's look at the previous chapter to see what was said about faith (chapter 11 looks like a continuation (explanation) of a conversation; 'now faith ...'). Heb 10: 38 tells us  'Now the just shall live by faith:But if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him'. Romans 1: 17 expounds the scope of faith more clearly to us by saying   'For

Atoned For

©Google Images Hope your day started off good. A healthy dose of 'HolyGhostmaquin' as my friend calls it every morning will set you on the right track for your day. At least ten minutes spent in heartfelt worship and prayer can lift your Spirit up and get you charged for the day. Add this to your morning routine , your day will go easier than you planned and you'll be telling testimonies before the end of the week. God loves you. Today we'll be talking about the best person in the world. Jesus! His work of atonement for our sins was symbolized in the old testament . All that He came to do and all that He represents. Our anchor scripture today is Leviticus 1. You'll be amazed. Lev 1: 3  'If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it at the doorway of the Tent of Meeting so that he may be accepted before the Lord. 4 He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering [transferrin

Thoughts and Intentions

Image
Jer 29:11  'For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'. It's 2017 already. I know a lot of us have made resolutions, if not all of us. Some of us are working with God's blueprint of the year. But in all, there's something we want to achieve this year. Now God is saying I have plans for you. These are my thoughts and intentions. So for every individual God has plans for you in this year. But you'll choose whether to walk in it or not. I know we all sing 'all things are working for my good' , but here's what the passage says: Rom 8: 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I'm not trying to scare you but the truth is God will only work out all things for those who love Him, who are THE CALLED, ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. Who are &#

HOPE AGAINST HOPE

Image
©Google Images 2017 is here and we have written our goals. It is important that we know the things that will make us successful in this year. 1) Accept Grace. You'll be surprised but a lot of people will fail and give up this year not because their plans were not good or that God was not with them but because they failed to accept Grace. What's Grace? Gods hand above you waiting to pick you up when you fail. When we make mistakes, we beat ourselves down and remain there. That's where the devil wants you. If he can keep you in self-pity, he'll have succeeded in holding up what God wants to do for you. When you fall, rise up, ask for forgiveness (if it means wailing, wail) and MOVE ON with God, but forgive yourself first. Most times it is not God that has not forgiven us, but we who have not forgiven ourselves. I remember praying about a certain thing, 'Lord if I ever do this thing , I know you'll forgive me but I don't know if I'll be able to

Placement

Image
©Google Images I have always had a strong belief that positioning is important in life. Where you are and what you do at every particular moment is important. God's work is in time and seasons and also in geographical locations. When God sent Gabriel, the bible records in Luke 1:26; 'And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary'. What if He had not found Mary there? Zacharias the priest was the first person He came to see as he was doing his business as usual. It was just another work day and then, an Angel appeared. Luke 1:8 "And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, 9according to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10And the whole multitude of the people were pray

OBEDIENCE

Image
©Google Images Hey. Hope you're having a good day. Today we'll be talking on obedience. Obedience is the key. Obedience is the KEY. Obedience is the master key. To go far with God, obedience is the key. You can't get to the next level with God, without first obeying the instructions He has given you. I remember when God told me to start a blog. I wanted to get all the facts before I began (How is it going to work out. What am I going to be doing with it). Well I didn't get an answer (maybe I didn't know what to ask for).  Then I was going through the fb page of a certain man of God and I saw something he posted. It went paraphrased, 'you will never understand what God wants to do until you obey'. Take the first step of obedience and He will begin to unravel His intentions to you. Now He's revealing to me step by step what He wants me to do. You know precept upon precept, a little here, a little there. Isaiah 28: 10 “For He says,‘Precept upon precept,

The Principle of Giving

Image
©Google Images God was the first giver He gave us the earth. He breathed into us. He gave us life. He gave us Eden. He gave us everything. Gen 2:8 "Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food" His giving actually started from the story of creation. Now here is the principle of Giving. Luke 6:38  "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.” God laid a foundation for us. God will not tell you to do something which he does not or can not do. You see when God wanted a son (us), what did He do , He gave a son ( Jesus). John 3: 16 "For God so loved the wor

Spending Time With God

Image
©Google Images Have you ever had a problem you could not solve, no matter how hard you tried? It could be an invitation from God to come fellowship with Him. You will never know your limitations until you are encountered by difficulties which even you cannot solve. Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool". Man was not created to function alone or independently. So no matter how HARD you try, you'll keep falling short. You're God's creation for a specific purpose and that purpose can only be found in Him. There's a limit to the extent you can go on your own, under your own leadership, because you were created. The creation will never be greater than the Creator. That's why we can try a lot of things on our own and after a while it feels like nothing is working anymore. Well God is in charge and He

Topical Issue : Sex

Image
I think the teaching on sex has become more of a moral code than a biblical one. What do I mean?  When most parents say it's good for you to keep yourself till marriage they are no longer emphasizing it  because it is what God wants but so your husband will be happy and know that you're a good girl. Like all moral codes people now think it's up to them to choose if they want to keep themselves or not. Well, If you're going to subscribe to the kingdom of God, you'll have to abide by the King's rules. And He's not sharing you with anybody, at least not until you're married. 1 cor 3: 16 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." Iniquity defiles. Immoral sex is the greatest defilement. You don't know how much you lose just because you have sex outside God's will. 1 cor

Beauty in Diversity

Image
©Google Images Ever wondered why everyone seems so different, yet God still uses us despite our differences? Ever wondered why God would use (insert name), because he/she is obviously different from you? (Not necessarily in standards now but in physical features or character) Answer. Acts 10: 34 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him." Sometimes we ask, why am I not like B, or why is my Christianity not like B's. Or more dangerously, we start acting like B, because we "like their Christianity". Let's see a scripture. Rom 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse." This scripture tells us that what was made (the world) helps us understand m

The Power of Association

Image
©Google Images "For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them." I understood early that what Christ meant was not merely a physical gathering. He meant when people are gathered with the intent and purpose of fellowshipping with him. It is possible that not everyone that comes to church comes to seek God. They might come for their own personal reasons. But here Christ is talking about a people whose gathering is for him. They might not even have come to pray, but because their purpose ofgathering is him, he is among them. I'll show you an example from the Bible. John 20: 19 "So when it was evening on that same day, the first day of the week, though the disciples were [meeting] behind barred doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them, and said, 'Peace to you.'" Fear bought these men together but because it was in His Name, He was found in their midst. Now to the topic of discu

Musings of a Lover #3

Spirit, Soul and Body Happy Sunday everyone 💞 Hope you're having an awesome time with God today. Today I'll be writing on a very important topic to us as Christians. Are we spirit, soul and body? or are we spirit, possessing a soul and living in a body? This might look like mere semantics to you, but understanding this will give you a key insight to Christian living and help you understand better how to relate with God. What does it mean to be a spirit, a soul and a body? This means that we have three independent but interrelated members. No one is more important than the other ultimately. What does it mean to be a spirit, possessing a soul and living in a body? This means that we are principally spirit men, 'the flesh profits nothing'. God doesn't care about it. 'He looks at the inward and not the outward.' So which one are we? I have been of the two different schools of thought at different times in my walk with God and this is what I

On Marriage #2

Image
I saw something really interesting and I wanted to share it with you guys. It’s especially for the guys. It's on marriage. Marriage is a beautiful thing if you understand it. As for me, I am personally sold out to love. Ephesians 5: “25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh." I find it interesting that th

1 cor 2 "9But as it is written,Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,Neither have entered into the heart of man,The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man who is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." As Christians, we all carry a deposit of God's Spirit. Talking about Jesus, the scriptures tell us that: ‘And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: and the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD.’- (Isaiah 11:1-3). This is the same deposit of God we carry and we have the ability to tap

Musings of a Lover #4

Image
Musings of a Lover ™ Fear. Something happened at home, and my first action would have been to worry, but unlike me, instead of pursuing facts and ‘accusing' God, I started speaking God’s word and speaking and speaking. Then when I was calm I prayed and then God gave victory. If this had happened earlier, I would have gone back to God and say ‘you said this, you said that why is this happening now'; Mine was not a prayer of faith, it was a prayer of accusation. This time I didn’t go to God immediately, I spoke to the situation and when I was done I went back to my Father. What did I learn? FEAR. You see, whatever you focus on you magnify. If you keep seeing the problem, it will magnify, you’ll feel hopeless. But if you begin to see God in that situation, everything begins to get better. The devil is often times referred to as the PRINCE of THIS world. Meaning he’s a ruler without authority and his jurisdiction ends on the earth. He has no influence outside. Just
