Do You Love Me More Than ...?

John 21:15 "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?"

Why was Jesus particular about this. He asked Simon three times, 'do you love me more than these people?'.

Why was Jesus concerned about this? A time will come when what will keep you for God, is your love for God.

Everything will be upside down. You might not understand why you're doing what you are doing again. The devil might be besetting you on all sides. Then, only your love for God will keep you.

Let's see what follows after this declaration; John 21: 18 "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God."

In this situation, only Peter's love for God will keep Him.

God knows that a time will come where your sustaining power (what will keep you going) will be  your love for him. Therefore do not joke with your  love relationship with God. Continually pray: 'Lord increase my love for you'.

How do you grow in your love for Him. By studying His Word. The more you know God the more you'll love Him.

So keep digging deep into His word daily. So when that situation comes, you can stand firm knowing (personally, not that you were told by someone), that your God is faithful and He loves you.

Don't give up.

And you, whatever you're going through know that God can solve all problems. Look on God.

Continually pray; 'Lord increase my love for you'. Amen

Thank you
