The Intelligent Believer

1 cor 2 "9But as it is written,Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,Neither have entered into the heart of man,The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man who is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."
As Christians, we all carry a deposit of God's Spirit. Talking about Jesus, the scriptures tell us that: ‘And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: and the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; and shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD.’- (Isaiah 11:1-3). This is the same deposit of God we carry and we have the ability to tap into all these folds of God’s Spirit if we would only ask and keep asking.

Over the years Christianity has become associated with mediocrity because we Christians decided to put our hands off striving for excellence. Reason? Because we say we are in this world but not part of the world. Remember you’re IN the world, so you have to function in it.

Who owns the earth? God. Scriptures tell us that ‘The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; The world, and they that dwell therein.’ – Psalm 24:1. What was God’s purpose for the earth? That His kind (seed) will have dominion over it, and we know from scriptures that ‘Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.’ – (1 John 5:1). So you are his seed.

You were not created to go to heaven. In fact, you were created to stay on earth. That’s why when everything is over there will be a new heaven and A NEW EARTH. Earth is your principal place of dominion. ‘And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband’ – (Rev 21:1-2). Where was this new Jerusalem coming down to? The new earth. The difference would be that this earth will be ruled principally by God and there will be no more evil.

If you think you gave your life to Christ just to go to heaven, you need to awaken. Jesus is not coming until he has handed dominion of this earth to the Father. He will give the earth to God as an offering. 1 Cor 15: 24 - 25 ‘Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet’.

That’s where we come in!

‘Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before.
Christ, the royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See his banners go!'

We are the instruments by which this victory will be won.

Everyone is vital, every area is essential. In politics we need men there, in business, academics, entertainment, law, the media, we need fire branding Christians there to propagate the gospel of Christ. God needs men in every field doing something for the kingdom.

I’ll end with this: there were times God wanted to do something for the Kingdom but he needed men in authority to establish that (King Nebuchadnezzar, King Cyrus, Joseph of Arimathæa Nicodemus), sometimes prophecies were attached to these men so we know God really wanted to use them, and that there was no mistake. You should be there too in such positions getting things done for him. If there was no Joseph of Arimathæa, an honourable counsellor to talk to Pilate and bury Jesus, Jesus would not have been given a portion with the great as prophesied by Isaiah.

God told Paul ‘Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have many people in this city’. The basis of God’s boasting was that he had many men in the city. Paraphrased; ‘nobody will touch you, my people are plenty here', and truly no one did. Can God make such a serious claim to someone about you?

Be an intelligent Christian; a wise believer. There's work to be done for the kingdom.
