Heb 1: 13 KJV: “But to which of the angels said He at any time, Sit on my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool?” After the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, He was raised up by God and made to sit at His Right Hand in heavenly places and while God was raising up Christ, He raised up everyone that would ever come to Him in Christ. So every prospective child of God was raised up in Christ upon His resurrection. So BEFORE you accepted Jesus you are already raised in Christ and you are seated in heavenly places. Let me explain the situation like this: If someone promises to give you money and the person drops the money with a friend for you, till you take possession of the money you can’t do anything with it. The fact that you have not collected the money does not mean it is not there. Hello, guys. So it’s been a while here. How are you? Hope you’re all good. Today I’m going to be talking about ‘intimacy with the King' After salvation, God expects us to grow. I will tell you, you just got started if you just gave your life to Christ. There’s so much more to being saved than quoting a few good scriptures and going to church. God doesn’t want you to just come to him and end it there. He wants you to grow. He wants you to come to know Him. He wants you to come to be like Him. He wants to have an intimate relationship with you. (Deep calls unto deep; Psalm 42:7). God is the first Deep and He needs you to be deep too. Your salvation, great as it is, is not enough.  If it was, God would have taken you up immediately you gave your life to Him, but He didn’t. After your salvation, you need to grow. It's good to know that God loves you. That He is concerned about the little details about you, like how you sleep, what you eat, what you wear, who you court. Admonishing David He said, "I also gave you your master’s house and put your master’s wives into your care and under your protection, and I gave you the house (royal dynasty) of Israel and of Judah; AND IF THAT HAD BEEN TOO LITTLE, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU MUCH MORE”. (2 Samuel 12:8) God is love. We forget that aspect of Him a lot when we are dealing with Him. As Africans, it is easy to see God as a consuming fire and as the ‘Lion' because we are raised to respect people not love them. But until you truly see God as Love (not the fake expression of love that causes you to go on sinning but the Truth of Love) you will never have a balanced relationship with Him. It’s easy to get distracted. It’s easy to conclude that God is not working. So what do you do when you get to this point where it feels like you’re going nowhere? You take a deep breath, relax and tell God to take over. A ridiculous position for someone who is expecting some action, but until you’re still and realize and recognize that He is God, you will never get God to work in your life. God is able to do that which He says He will do. His ability does not change because the circumstances have changed or because the person you were hoping on has passed on. The prophet says in Isaiah 26:3-4 “Thou (God) wilt keep him (you) in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee (Him): because he (you)  trusts in thee (Him). Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.” God tells us to put our trust in Him (that confidently relies on and believe in Him). Amos 3:3 Can two walk together except they agree? Agreement is very important for any relationship to work. The place of fellowship is where spouses can learn about each other; their flaws, their likes, and dislikes and how best to relate to each other. In our relationship with Christ ( He is our groom and we are His bride Rev 21:9 ), fellowship is where divinity meets with humanity and we become more like Him. We can fellowship with God through His Word and Prayer.  When you are going through God’s Word, you might not immediately feel the effect of what you’re doing but if you CONSISTENTLY keep at it, one day you'll realize that you’re acting like Jesus. Remember always that in your Christian life you walk by Faith and not by Sight and you can only move God by your faith. So believe you’re getting something from your Word study even if you think you’re not, and consistently keep at it and you’ll soon realize that the Word is having an impact in your life.  Next is prayer. Joshua 1:8 ‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful’. God still works. I’ll  begin with that. You know in our day a lot of things are happening.  People are asking questions that they are not getting answers to. Is there really a God? Does He really care about us? Why are things the way they are? ... Now more than ever I believe everyone should begin to have a personal revelation of God. You know, it’s exciting when you know God for yourself. You have this Father- son/ daughter relationship that will be exclusive to you. When you come to church, it won’t be as though the Pastor was speaking a foreign language to you; You can understand better and connect easier because you have a personal relationship with God. Scriptures tell us in Matt 24:4-5 “Jesus answered, “Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error].  For many will come in My name[misusing it, and appropriating the strength of the name which belongs to Me], saying, ‘I am the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed),’ and they will mislead many.” God, however, does not leave us on our own, He gives us tools for us to know the whims of the devil and be able to resist them. So today I’ll be talking to those who want to know God’s principles and live by them and those who would want to make that decision to walk with Him. It is wisdom to seek  God’s counsel first before embarking on ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING including marriage. Why? Have you ever tried going to Jamaica on your own before maybe in your car? Ridiculous right. Do you even know your way to Jamaica? So what do you do? You enter into a plane that has a pilot who knows the way. Same as your marriage. Have you been on that journey before? You need someone who knows the way. Don’t make hasty decisions because you think you don’t have time. It's better to spend some months in prayer and get clarity than for you to spend 75 years confused and running around looking for a solution. It may be difficult and you’ll need Spirit Power, but don’t make any decision in the heat of the moment because you think you might never get a better opportunity. Seek God’s advice. Love is like faith or hope; it needs work for you to grow in love. There are two aspects of Love according to Scriptures; Love for God and Love for man. "With a grateful heart I lift my hands to you, proclaiming Lord you reign! Great are you Lord, You're greatly to be praised. Greatly to be praised, Father you reign"(Sinach - Great are You Lord) Praise is an act of love. Praise is meant to come from your inner being. Praise is beautiful. Praise is comely. Praise is wonderful and God inhabits (dwells in, lives in) the praise of His people. Do you want to know where God is? Hello :) Going through God’s Word I discovered something really interesting that I would love to share with you. There was a famine in the land of Canaan and Isaac was looking for greener pastures for his livestock and The Lord appeared to him saying “Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of” Gen 26:2, KJV. He had already moved from Canaan to the land of the Philistines and God knew his next point of call would be Egypt, so He appeared to him quickly and told him, no, you’re not going to that land. My Presence won’t go there with you. That’s not where I have prepared for you. For Isaac this must have been very confusing. He was clearly in a fix and he needed a way out and here God was saying, that place you think is better, well it really isn't. So why did God not want Isaac to go down to Egypt? From the little I’ve come to know about God, He will NEVER leave you, He will never forsake you. He’ll love you even as He gently takes you out of whatever situation you are in. Hello! Hope you had a really fabulous weekend. Our discussion today is going to be about our salvation and what God requires of us afterwards. God is not just concerned about your salvation only. He wants your household too. The Lord speaks clearly of this throughout scriptures. Let’s take a look at Jesus. His mother and brethren (siblings) became disciples too. They were even with the brethren in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. Acts 1:14 “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.” Another example is that of James and John. They did not only seek the Lord, their mother joined in the pursuit. Matt 20:20 “Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.” Cornelius was another man who sought the salvation of his household too.   Today we hear a lot of talk about salvation, eternal life, faith, miracles and healings (which are all really good), but we don’t get to hear a lot about love. The foundation of the Church and all Christ came to do. We remember the story of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). Christ was asked, what must I do to receive eternal life. He answered “what is written in the law? How do you read it?.” (This reminds me of what he said in another occasion; “have ye not read”. This is going to be the basis of our Judgement; the Scripture). The lawyer replied, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” (Luke 10:27). Throughout Scripture, God talks about love for one another; for the needy, the poor, the orphans. Jeremiah 31: 3 “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.” Sometimes we think that the love of God is one sided; that He loves us when we are good, but He doesn’t when we are not. So we try to buy God's love and forgiveness by our work. When we were growing up we were taught, sometimes not directly, that apostle Paul had to suffer all he did as a believer because of his former sins. We were taught that sin is like a wound, although it heals, there will always be a scar. Well that notion has been embedded into some of us, that it becomes difficult to accept God's unconditional love. We constantly live in self doubt even after salvation, asking questions like “how can God love someone like me, after this” or “there has to be some price I must pay to truly get his love (like what Jesus did was not enough)”.
