The Force of Love
THE FORCE OF LOVE
Disclaimer: this post is mere theories and principles if you don’t have the Holy Spirit interpreting it to you.
What is love?
Love is what makes the world go round. It is the foundation of the world. Love (or lack of it) is the reason for what is happening around us.
Today I’ll be talking about the Force of Love; (the power of Love).
Love is the very nature of God. Now love (agape), according to the Bible is not emotions or affections. Love is deliberating choosing to do God’s will. Love is like faith or hope; it needs work for you to grow in love.
There are two aspects of Love according to Scriptures; Love for God and Love for man. Love for God brings about love for man
‘Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him].
He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love’.
(1 John 4:7-8)
I heard a testimony once, a certain young man had a mother who was ill and about to die and he had prayed and fasted and his mother was still gravely ill. So one day he came to her and told her ‘mom let the universe know that I love. Whoever is trying to take you from me let them know I love you'. He kept on doing this continually and persistently. After a while, his mother started getting better till she was finally okay.
What really happened here? When the Scripture tells us that ‘And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love'. IT LITERALLY MEANS THAT LOVE IS THE GREATEST.
Songs of Solomon 8:6 says ‘Put me like a seal on your heart. Like a seal on your arm; For love is as strong as death'. That means in the realm of the Spirit, Love is as strong as Death. Now John tells us ‘We know that we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death’ (1 John 3:14). That is love is even more powerful than death; having the ability to take us from death. So when the Spirit of death comes and sees that The Spirit of Love abides, he takes his bow. Love has the ability to conquer death. Jesus on the Cross is the perfect example; ‘For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE’. ( John 3:16)
Prayers prayed out of love gets answered faster. Try it. Stop praying for yourself for some days and try praying for others. You’ll see speedy answers to your situation and theirs also, even when you did not pray for yourself (that’s the mystery of the kingdom). If you pray for others God will answer your needs, even the ones you did not know you had. He loves men committed to souls because he is highly committed to souls (saving them, providing for them, taking care of them, loving them). If you love people genuinely not because of what you can get from them, you’ll have a special place in God’s heart.
