When Dependence Becomes Stronger Than Independence= Zoe
'Your Presence is Heaven to me' - Isreal Houghton & New Breed |
He's your ever present help and He loves you.
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” 2cor 12:9
We often get so preoccupied with our selves and our abilities that we think we can do all things by merely willing it (for those believe in self will and power). We have been taught from a young age that we have to be strong , independent people, or else others will take advantage of us. While these may be true in some circles, they are not in the Kingdom Of God.
We cannot live a life that God will be pleased with by our own understanding. We cannot be better persons independent of God's leading and help. (I'm sure we all have at least 2 or 3 failed new year resolutions to tell of our inadequacies). He said in John 10: 27 "my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”. We can only truly be His and live the life He would be proud of in submission.
You know, a sheep does not have much of a choice when it comes to being led by his shepherd. He’ll have to trust his shepherd to lead him beside still waters. To take him to places where the land is most green. We are His sheep and He is our shepherd. When we begin to depend on God (trusting and seeking His help for everything we need), and not on what we think we can do on our own, we let His light shine bright in our lives.
By asking His Holy Spirit for help whenever we have a situation, we acknowledge that we cannot do it on our own. When he sees we are submissive to His will, He quickly comes to our rescue.
We should not be too proud to ask God for help. The strongest in God's kingdom, are the ones most dependent on him. Thank Him for the victories He has given you and trust Him for whatever obstacles you need to overcome. Remember His words to Zerubbabel in Zech 4:6 "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
Continually ask for His help and trust Him. He'll be there for you.
Love.
