Abide (Stay!)

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."

Jesus used a lot of illustrations in the days He lived on earth. Most of these illustrations had to do with farming. Farming was the major occupation in those days , so He used something they could easily relate with. Once they knew what the symbols meant, they could understand better what He was saying.

Jesus likens himself to a vine; His Father the Gardener; and we are the branches.

A vine (Jesus) is a climbing plant, with weak stems ( branches) (you). The stems need support for them to grow effectively and bear fruits.

It is the duty of the gardener (God) to provide support for the vine stem(you) when it is still tender. As it begins to shoot out , it will  have something to lean on, so it can move forward and have enough space to find expression. It keeps twining till it gets to the tip of the support system.

Jesus said I am the vine, and ye are the branches (extensions). He is the source and the root of the vine. The support system of the branches. Any support or nutrient we will be needing to lean on and grow, will be coming from Him, through the Father.

That's why He said in vs 4: "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."

He'll make the necessary provisions for you as the Gardener would for the vine. Whatever may be necessary at any point in time to help you grow. He may place men after His heart your way to help you grow. He may use discipline. Whatever is needed to help you grow.

If He sees you're willing enough to work with Him, he prunes (cleans ; takes away the unwanted part from) you. It's not such a sweet process but you'll come out looking more  beautiful and healthy enough to bear good fruits.

You can't survive without your creator.

Remain in God and He will in you.

Don't give up.  That's your sure hope of Glory
